Luv ko 'to..

I treated my four yr old cousin Rita to a Happy Meal at McDonald’s-Centroplex yesterday. Seconds after I laid down our food at the table, she told me that she wanted to pee. So I asked the crew if they have a comfort room within the store. Alas, she said “None.” The only toilets are at the 2nd floor of the mall. So I told Rita if she can control it until we finish eating. I can’t just leave our food with no one to attend to it, although I know that she will not be able to enjoy her food with a (very) full bladder.

The sun was setting down such that its rays hit our table directly. Two of the crew members approached us to ask whether we want to transfer to another table. I told them to wait a minute since I’m thinking of whether to have the food wrapped to be brought home (she just wanted the toy that went along with the meal) since Rita wanted to pee and I can not let her go to the comfort room alone (talk about sending her to get lost in the mall filled with holiday shoppers!) and I can’t just leave our food. The former sounds to be the best alternative. One of them, who looks like their Head Crew, told the other to accompany Rita to the comfort room at the second floor!! I can’t believe my ears! So I asked them “Are you sure?? Is it really okay with you?” And both of them said “Yes, its okay.” Smiling, the female crewmember took Rita’s hand and off they went to the toilet. My, I’m so thankful for them. McDo’s-Centroplex crew members know how to treat their customers. So far, this is the best reason why I can say LUV ko to….

Sakto!

After going to mass today, I stopped by the Coop to do some grocery shopping. Although what I have on my list were only wheat bread, sandwich spread, canned tuna, and some instant 3-in-1 coffee, I bought some biscuits and cocoa mix along with it. I only have five-20 peso bills, two-five peso coins and four-25 centavo coins in my pocket. So when I was waiting for my turn at the cashier, I was mentally calculating my purchases. I was thinking of leaving some instant coffee but decided against it. What the heck, I'll just tell the cashier to cancel some of my purchases if my money would not add up to my grocery. I was looking at the figures flashing on the cash register everytime the cashier punches in the prices of my purchases. So when the machine showed that it cost me P111.00, I gave her all the money I have. Counting every bill and coin and...Sakto! What I have in my pocket was only P111.00! I can't help but smile after letting out a big sigh of relief. Tamang-tama lang! :)

ganyan ang buhay!

Last Thursday, Kathy, Doodie and I were riding a Katipunan Jeep going to National Bookstore. Seated across us was a little boy who was sitting on his mother's lap. Kathy and I were arguing whether the boy was asleep or not. It was my contention that the boy was sleeping because his eyes were closed, although he was munching on some crackers. Kathy said that he was just eating with his eyes closed. Noticing our questioning eyes, his mom woke him up! And Doodie said, ganyan ang buhay! That was just a picture of a blissful life!

summer (once again!!)

Bora is definitely the place to be during summer!! It's a lively island packed with people enjoying the sun, sand and the sea. But if you want a peaceful respite, this is not the place to go.

What I like best about going to boracay is swimming in the afternoons and eating buffet meals at night without a nagging conscience. And talking about swimming, I've finally conquered my fear of swimming in the vast open seas... Of course, with a life vest on!! Otherwise, I would not dare to swim, not with my super mediocre swimming prowess.. :) At least, I'm not afraid to snorkel anymore and swim with the fishes.. hehehehhehe

But if you'll ask me whether I like to go to bora in the summer or during semestral break, my answer would be "it depends." It depends on my mood. :)
